ANTIQUE PELINKOVAC is the oldest and most famous Badel premium herbal liqueur, but also one of the most intriguing Croatian beverages. The product dates back to 1862, the year famous Croatian liquor factory – Badel was founded.

It was designed by Franjo Pokorny, a merchant and founder of Badel in 1862. At the time, Antique was sold exclusively in pharmacies under the recommendation of “gastric invigorating agent”. He was so in demand that Francis Pokorny became a supplier of this fantastic liquor even to the Viennese and French courts, and according to records, it was already being exported to America at that time. The recipe used to make Badel Antique Pelinkovac is the oldest and well-preserved recipe in the Badel 1862 archive.

Antique Pelinkovac has been produced since 1862. in the same traditional way, according to the original recipe, and of 100% natural ingredients. When prepared selected spice plants are first aged in alcohol, and then distilled in copper boilers. After aging again, the liquor is manually bottled. A genuine Croatian craft product. Each bottle is also labeled with a unique serial number printed on the label on the back. The taste of this premium herbal liqueur is dominated by wormwood, an aromatic herb that is distinguished by its aroma, followed by a note of bitterness that is remembered and recognized by many for its beneficial effects on the organism, which makes wormwood a perfect digestive agent, but also one of the strongest bases for traditional aperitif cocktails.
